I really enjoyed this short Christmas book. Very different from your typical Christmas story. This centers on two sisters living in Chicago at the time of the great Chicago fire. Their story developes as they become separated and search for each other for over 70 years. It is the kind of story that will make the reader start to think about the memories they have of Christmases past. Great little book to give as a gift to special people in your life!!Product details

This compact story-within-a-story will surprise you its characters are likely borrowed from people you've known, yet the heart-pounding cadences of their lives during the Great Chicago Fire, and the mystery of unexplained events in their lives thereafter keep you engaged through the tale's conclusion. I pulled this gem from my bookshelf for a second read recently and was reminded how I had appreciated the author's storytelling skill, his blend of magical Christmas stories and how they evoked my own fond memories. I think the messages in Memory of a Christmas Story would be wonderful additions to family story-telling traditions. I bought several copies of this endearing tale for gifts at Christmas last year and was delighted by the responses they elicited.
This story grabbed my attention and didn't let me put it down. I totally did not anticipate the ending. Anyone would enjoy it.
